The Information technology curriculum has been set up more than ten years in primary and secondary schools, the hardware investment、teaching materials construction and teacher staff preparation in different places had entered into a mature phase. Information technology teachers arose from nothing, from immaturity to gradually standardized,the current junior information technology teachers have eight years of teaching experience on average, they are now in a bottleneck period, understanding the status of junior information technology teachers’ professional development is meaningful in guiding their professional development. Firstly, this paper uses questionnaires conducted a sample survey among the junior information technology teachers in Dalian of Liaoning Province, the results indicate that the current junior information technology teachers have poor professional philosophy and ethics,but have better professional knowledge,also their professional ability are insufficient.Based on the results of the questionnaire, the author further did interviews among junior information technology teachers and principals,identify the junior information technology professional development of teachers have the following deficiencies:the education authorities had not pay enough attention to the junior information technology professional development of teachers;the reaching and training for these teachers are inadequate obviously;to stimulate the non-examination subject teachers’ enthusiasm,a new information technology teacher assessment and evaluation system should be established;Junior information technology teachers are weak in these regards the significance for professional development,relevant policies,knowledge sentiment, also their level of participation is not high.According to the survey results and these problems,we put forward those following measures to promote the professional development of junior information technology teachers:First,creation a better external environment which is good for the professional development of information technology teachers;Second,do some special training regularly according to the actual situation; Third,tilt to rural and urban schools and provide them with teaching service that is in line with the actual school situation;Forth,enhance self-awareness of the professional development and achieve independent professional development.
