The information society is striding lightsome pace to each person’s front, information technology as the most popular twenty-first Century technology, access to information, the use of information has become the basic needs of human survival and development. At the same time, the information technology has provided us with lots of information, the use of information means and tools. The development of modern information technology change rapidly, every day will be the emergence of new tools, new technology and new ideas. If you would have such worry:if they cannot keep up with the pace of development of information technology, we will be abandoned?The rapid development of modern information technology to our society and individuals to bring the huge influence and the impact, also bring all sorts of contradictions and problems, opportunities and challenges. A new round of basic education curriculum reform is in full swing, the reform of education and teaching direction determination and the teacher own demand increasing, the requirement of teacher continuing education system and improve the standard. This article from the view of development issues, in view of the current Liuyang city middle school information technology teachers to participate in continuing education issues to investigate and study.City information technology teachers are a special group, they shoulder the various schools audio-visual equipment maintenance, network management and information technology teaching and other important tasks. Along with the national information industry give aid to gradually increase the intensity, the project of rural distance education deepening and school education continues to increase, Liuyang information technology education software, hardware environment will be further improved. But how to strengthen the information technology discipline construction, ensure the healthy development of establishment of discipline, discipline status and gives us new challenges. City secondary school teachers in information technology teaching level, teaching ability how? The information technology teacher continuing education situation how?In order to further understand the city middle school information technology continuing education actual situation, from2011February began, I through visits, and information technology teachers exchange, online questionnaire survey form to the information technology teacher education, teaching evaluation, continuing education and other aspects of a comprehensive investigation and study. Understand the information technology discipline and teachers’ basic situation and the existence main question, after a long time thinking and understanding as well as for more than a year of investigation and visit, established the " Liuyang city middle school information technology continuing education present situation investigation and development countermeasure research " as the subject of research direction.This paper mainly adopts the questionnaire in the form of Liuyang city information technology teachers’ basic situation and the continuing education status of the investigation. Through the presentation and analysis of survey data, point out Liuyang city information technology teachers’ continuing education present situation, analyzes and summarizes the main problems and reasons existing, based on the analysis put forward to solve the main problems of our city middle school information technology teachers’ continuing education countermeasures and thinking, combined with the actual situation in our city carried out on secondary school the information technology teacher continuing education discussion, to explore more effective methods and countermeasures.
