Career Planning And Career Development Of College Counselors In Liaoning Province

As an important component of student management and education in colleges, an instructor is both a supervisor and a teacher. An instructor is the cadre organizer, executor, director, as well as conductor of daily ideological and political education for college students. Meanwhile, an instructor is a lifelong mentor and a beneficial friend for college students in their life. On one hand, as a major practice, an instructor should fulfill his obligation, develop towards the team goal, and discipline himself. On the other hand, as a career performer, one instructor should have a clear and definite career planning and development(CP&CD). No matter which aspect he is in, major practice or career performer, an instructor should have his own clear, complete and scientific CP&CD. The career planning and developing are of great significance. From a macro perspective, they are critical to the future of ideological and political education, and to the education development of the whole country; from a micro perspective, they are crucial to the achievement of personal career value and to the development of college students. A well designed career planning is of great importance to the ideological and political education to the stabilization of instructor team, to the settlement of development goal, and to the overcoming of career fatigue.The purpose of this paper is to systematically organize and blueprint the CP&CD for college instructors and to practice the relative policies under the guidance of Ministry of Education’s Advice on the Construction Reinforcement of College Instructor & Class Adviser Team(Document No.24 by MOE), and the CPC Central Committee & State Council’s Advice on Further Reinforcement and Promotion of College Students’ Ideological and Political Education(C(2004) No. 16), in accordance with the task and requirement, referring to the subjective environment of ideology and political education, and insisting the principle of people oriented and integrated development.The paper consists of five parts. The first is the preface, including the origin of the problem, study objectives and research significance, concept definition, literature review, research method, and creativity. The second part is the CP&CD, as well as the theory basic. The third part is factors and progress of CP and CD. The fourth part is the CP &CD status quo among the college instructors in Liaoning Province. Problems are studied and analyzed; In the fifth part, scientific CP & CD is designed from the aspects of the country, college and person in concern with the promotion of college instructors’ CP & CD.
