Research On The Promotion Of Talent Cultivation Ability Of Yangzhou Business School Serving Local Economy

The Ability to serve local economic development is not only representing the talent cultivation quality of a vocational school, but also can stand for the comprehensive ability of running a vocational school. Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, Higher Vocational School of Commerce, (hereinafter referred to Yangzhou Shangxiao), is a school that relying on 2500 long history and distinctive regional cultures of Yangzhou. Based on the tertiary industry and the second industry, the school aims to enhance the traditional service industries, handicraft, develop modern tourism, and expand modern service industry. Reflecting on the development process of how to enhance the capacity of the school’s serving the local economy, especially the talent cultivation, is meaningful to regional economic development and the school itself.Based on the organizational capacity theory, the labor supply and demand theory and human capital theory, this study did a research on how to enhance the talent cultivation ability of Yangzhou Shangxiao. The results of a Talent needs investigation show that companies need talents with technical skills, high overall quality, and ethical characteristics as well. Besides contributing to the local economy, it is now facing talent cultivation difficulties from five aspects:first, the overall quality of students is too low to cultivate; the second is the teachers’ attitude is lagged behind; the third is training base construction is insufficient and needs capital investment, and corporate participation is not often as possible; the fourth is the "work" "learning" relationship confusion; the fifth one, school management lacks appropriate incentives to enhance the mechanism. All these problems are due to the following reasons:firstly, the government security work, secondly school’social service ability needs to be improved, the last but not the least is the society misunderstanding of the vocational education.This study provides remedies from students, teachers, facilities and management to enhance the talent cultivation ability of school’s serving the local economy:to enhance students’ comprehensive quality, cultivate talents with excellent technical skills; strengthen the teaching staff, optimizing training mechanism; cultivate practical ability and strengthen the training base construction; strengthen cooperation with enterprises, construction "work-study combination" operation mechanism; make a construction system with the six management to enhance the delicate management.
