A Study On The Cultivation Of Local Skilled Talents In G College Of Yangzhou City

As a key factor for economic development, talent plays a crucial role in the development of regional economy. Aimed at cultivating skill-oriented talents, the primary task of vocational college is to train well-qualified and high-skilled talents that meet the demands of regional economic development. With Yangzhou City accelerating its economic development, constantly adjusting its industrial structure, and rapidly transforming its production mode, its need for skill-oriented talents is also increasingly enlarged. As the important base of cultivating skill-oriented talents, vocational college should meet the need of social and economic development, steadily improve the cultivation quality and level of skill-oriented talents, and make contribution to regional economic development.The thesis chooses the cultivation of skill-oriented talents in G College of Yangzhou City as the research object and it is composed of five parts. The first part illuminates the background and significance of this research, further determines the research object, summarizes the current research status in related fields at home and abroad, and introduces basic methods adopted by this research. Based on the premise of analyzing the related concepts and theories concerning regional skill-oriented talents in vocational colleges, the second part expounds the mutual promotional logical relations between regional economic development and the cultivation of skill-oriented talents in regional vocational colleges. The third part starts with current situation, analyzes current demands for skill-oriented talents in Yangzhou City, takes into account of current cultivation situation of regional skill-oriented talents in G College, and sums up its existing problems in the cultivation process of skill-oriented talents, which mainly include:majors in G College could not suit with regional economic structure of Yangzhou City; talent cultivation level could not suit with requirements of industrial development; the faculty, especially "teachers who are not only equipped with teaching qualifications but also with professional qualifications", are relatively weak; and cooperation between college and enterprise in cultivating skill-oriented talents is not deep enough. The fourth part states reasons behind problems in the cultivation of skill-oriented talents, analyzes those reasons from four aspects:government, college, enterprise and student, and respectively points out the shortcomings of government in policy guarantee and public service, of college in the cultivation of skill-oriented talents, of enterprise in the involvement of cultivating skill-oriented talents, and of student in self-direction. From the above mentioned levels, the fifth part analyzes the measures G College should take to improve its cultivation of skill-oriented talents.The main conclusions of this thesis are as followed:the cultivation of regional skill-oriented talents in vocational colleges must aim at adapting requirements of regional economic development; the skill-oriented talent cultivation strategy that suits market demands cannot be achieved without joint cooperation among society, enterprises and industry; the government of Yangzhou City should play its role from the following aspects, including policy system, encouragement, guidance, and implementation method and strength, to achieve the sustained development of vocational colleges’talent cultivation strategies that could serve Yangzhou City’s social and economic development.
