At present, countries around the world have been carrying out reformation of the national basic education curriculum, and releasing the latest curriculum standard, which lead the progress and and improvement of various disciplines, in order to adapt to the social development and to cope with the international competition.With increasing attention paid, the primary social curriculum has been an important way of moral education of compulsory education system and a comprehensive discipline, which plays an irreplaceable role on cultivating students’ comprehensive quality and promoting the national literacy. this paper selects Chinese "Moral and Life Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education","Moral and Social Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education" (2011 edition) and Britain’s "Personal, Social and Health Education Curriculum Standard" (2011 edition), hereinafter referred to as PSHE curriculum standard, then this paper compares them as the research objects, referring to the advantages and characteristics of British primary school social curriculum standard, in order to promote improvement and development of our primary school social curriculum standard.This paper mainly uses literature material approach and comparative approach for analysis writing, and it makes comparative research and analysis on British and Chinese primary school social curriculum standards from the background, structure, framework, nature, objectives, content and enlightenment of curriculum standard. As for the comparison of structure and framework of curriculum standards, both countries have similar compositions, both reflecting the combination of periodicity and integrity. However, there has been a certain degree of difference in the level of detail and the idea of partition. In the aspect of the nature of curriculumstandards,this paper not only analyzes theintegrative and life characterist ics highlighted by curriculum of both countries, but also deeply discusses the differences in the nature of curriculum. The objectives of curriculum standards have also been analyzed and compared in detail. As for the content of curriculum standards, this paper compares from the aspects of difficulty, emphasis and grades of the content. The last part of the paper gives some thinking and enlightenment from the comparison of British and Chinese primary school social curriculum standard.
