Comics, with humorous and exaggerated artistic expressions, have attracted numerous teenage students nowadays. If we can use comics in an appropriate way in the junior high ideological and moral lessons,it will produce unexpected results. Additionally, lookingthrough the junior high ideological and moral textbooks (SurenEdition) and other supplementary books, comics are used a lot. How to make good use of these comics is the issue that we want to explore. This paper sorts out all the comics involved in junior high ideological and moral textbooks (Suren Edition) from grade 7 to grade 9 in detail, and it summarizes and classifies them systematically. It divides these comics into four categories, includingcomics with single picture or multiple pictures, comics with obvious meaning or implied meaning, comics which explaining reasons or guiding behaviors, and comics with text annotation or without text annotation, and it then briefly analyzes each category. With such research methods as literature, experiment, observation andexperience conclusion, this paper systematically concludes the positive effects of applying comics to junior high ideological and moral lessons, which can be briefly summarized into the following aspects:raising student’s interests, enhancing students’discrimination, and maintaining the sustaining power of moral education.During the research, with a focus on specific operations and based on reality, the writer puts forward a series of questions such as how to select comics, how to apply comics to junior high school ideological and moral lessons, what are the principles that should be adhered to when applying comics, and how to further develop comic resources. When it comes to the development of comic resources, we should, guided by the "general textbook concept", pay attention to textbooks, but we should not be restricted by textbooks. We should put students as the main body and develop comics which correspond to social development trends as well as the psychological cognitive characteristics of junior high students. It is believed that the research on these questions can provide guidance for front line teachers who have doubts about how to apply comics.By analyzing large quantities of comic materials and living examples, this paper integrates and explores theories on the basis of practice, thus making it more reasonable and effective to apply comic resources to ideological and moral lessons. It is believed that theresult of this research can be applied to ideological and moral lessons, and it will provide reference for teaching other subjects.
