In the fine management of teaching, the school attaches great importance to the construction of a Lesson Preparation Group. Lesson Preparation Group is the smallest unit of school teaching and researching activities, the construction quality of which is directly related to the quality of teaching and teachers’development. A Lesson Preparation Group of information technology subject in one senior high school employs traditional group managements, and has encountered problems such as less cohesive strength within the group, programmed activities only, and lack of learning and innovation ability. To solve these problems, the writer tries to carry out a case study on the construction of learning-oriented Lesson Preparation Group, by means of theories and technologies of learning-oriented organizations, combining with the current situation of the information technology Lesson Preparation Group. The main process includes:getting to know the current situation of the Lesson Preparation Group of information technology subject in this school with the help of investigations and interviews, and making comparisons between learning-oriented Lesson Preparation Group and the traditional one. Then an analysis on the impact factors for building a learning-oriented Lesson Preparation Group is made so as to design a number of activities to adopt. For second stage, practical teaching and researching activities are launched around five practices for building learning-oriented Lesson Preparation Group:create shared vision via refining and summarizing personal visions, then consolidate it with standardized collective lesson preparation to form a cohesive group; encourage teachers to improve their mental models, derived from school-based teaching & research and by means of carrying out school-level project research; fulfill support and practice by working out teacher-development plans and "blue-pair" models to achieve self-development goals; use "left column" technology to share the collective wisdom and to promote team learning; use systematic thinking to build a variety of platforms to offer assistance to teachers’ development. The results found that:from the practical viewpoint, through one-year practice, traditional Lesson Preparation Group has been transformed into a learning-oriented one, with initial achievements obtained. Theories on learning-oriented organization have strong operability and practicability in the construction of senior high school Lesson Preparation Group, which enables teachers to promote their’ professional development, enhance their teaching skills, and improve their scientific research levels which, indirectly, is beneficial to the improvement of teaching quality as well as the optimizing of Lesson Preparation Group management.
