Questioning plays an important role in ideological and political curriculum during junior high school, through which teachers can encourage students to explore more and raise new ideas. Due to the existing imbalance between the two functions of ideological and political curriculum——social service and cultivating people, questioning cannot be fully brought into play and phenomenon such as "teachers deciding everything" and "teachers asking more while students asking less" prevail in junior high schools, which lead to low efficiency in teaching and learning. Taking the questioning behaviors of ideological and political teachers as research object and dozens of ideological and political classes of a junior high school as samples, this thesis analyzes the current situation of ideological and political class and use of questioning by teachers through combining research on quality and quantity as well as class observing or recording to explore directions and ways to improve questioning in ideological and political class based on relevant theories.This thesis falls into the following three parts.The first part aims to appeal to teachers to foster a proper outlook on class questioning and introduce the four functions of class questioning for teaching and learning, namely organizing, localizing, inspiring and responding by discussing the defining theory of questioning and analyzing definitions, types and structure of questions.The second part discovers four major problems in ideological and political class with the analysis of current situations in junior high schools, including insufficiency of students’ participation, failure of teachers’ responding, lack of "silence" in questioning and unproper use of the organizing function.The third part raises ways to establish a harmonious environment for class questioning and inspire students to think independently and innovatively through analyzing documents and cases in order to solve problems in ideological and political class.
