High school biology new curriculum reform advocates inquiry-based learning, puts forward the more update, higher request, which clearly raises to realize scientific method of establishing model. Model teaching method is a kind of important means of scientific understanding and thinking method, and setting up model becomes necessary ability for students engaged in scientific research in the future. During teaching, the model can take many forms, such as physical model, the problem solving methods model, thinking model, charting model and so on, in the study of biological science, the solutions of many practical problems are closely related with the ability in constructing a biological model. However, the research on model centered in model of classification, characteristics, function and construction at present, of which the relevant theories in model teaching are lack of attention. Generally it takes the form of teaching design, and is often mentioned in curriculum of the construction of several physical models, the conceptual model, especially for the model construction of cell metabolism activity has no precedent. Therefore, developing cell metabolism model teaching is of great theoretical value and practical significance.This research adopts literature research to summarize related theory in the model construction teaching, and adopts questionnaire investigation and interview method, to understand the current situation of the Chang Jizhou High School from the perspective of teachers and students respectively. The survey found that teachers have no obvious difference in cognizing the model, and the students’ awareness of the model is in shallow layers; Teachers did not fully excavating model biological material in textbook, who only carry out activities that clearly requested in the curriculum, furthermore it has become casual in model teaching. Different subjects are differ with the kind of model. The students prefer dynamic model, while teachers favor static model forms. The undesirable development in model teaching in restricted by various factors, including the hardware level, teachers and the students’ subjective factors and so on. Based on literature research and the results of the investigation, the author combed the biological models in teaching materials, and proposed method in establishing models taking cell metabolism for example, namely (1) Through reviewing old knowledge to build thinking framework of new knowledge.(2) Teach the new knowledge, and let the students begin to construct a graph model.(3) Discuss model correctly or not together with the student.(4) Modify model, practice and consolidation.This study get the following conclusions:1, building model is a very effective method of learning biology, it can not only solve the difficulties in understanding knowledge in textbook, but also can help students training of divergent and inductive thinking.2, the author put forward the general method in establishing models is suitable for all kinds of learning, especially in learning biological process diagram can accomplish with half the effort.
