With the spread and support of information technology, more and more resources are integrated in teaching. And a large number of online courses are set up to share resources on account of the developing technology, people’s changing conception and the diversification of resources.2012 was the year of MOOC. And impacted by MOOC, many universities in China speeded up the informatization process, some joined the international MOOC project, such as edX, Coursera and Udacity, and set up a series of online courses. With the support of Ministry of Education, large quantity of universities in China purchased large-scale platforms, contributing to the informatization process.Blackboard, one of the most popular software for teaching, has been widely applied in numerous universities all around the world. And currently, plenty of scholars work on improving teaching quality by integrating the online Blackboard teaching with the traditional teaching. With the method of literature research, case studies, questionnaires as well as the implementation of actual course, this dissertation aims at laying a foundation for the applied teaching of informatization of physics and chemistry courses so as to improve students’ learning level.By researching much literature research and related books both home and abroad, this dissertation briefly introduced several typical online platforms and analysised the development of online teaching platforms. Based on personal experiences, the dissertation compared and analysised the differences of the popular typical platforms such as Coursera, Love Courses and Blackboard, thus highlighted the advantages of Blackboard. And the advantages lies in that it is user-centered and allows both the teachers and learners to formulate an individual learning environment, besides, it interests students by particular appliances to make them enthusiastic about learning, and it also assists teaching and improves the efficiency of teaching activities. What’s more, Blackboard records learning process, collects data, makes statistical figures and analyses them, which allows the instructors to supervise the learning process and effect of students.This dissertation emphases on the research of the design and application of physical chemistry using Blackboard, which including five stages:preparation stage, theoretical research stage, design and development stage, evaluation stage and conclusion stage. The first stage mainly constructs various learning resources for the course, including syllabus, teaching requirement, video, courseware, exercises, operation, and other materials, and participates in the training of platform. With the support of blended learning theory, constructivist theory and teaching theory community, the online physical chemistry course are designed on the Blackboard, and the corresponding learning resources of each module are set up in the framework, which was based on the teaching practice and the analysis of the characteristics of physical chemistry and college student’s learning trait, This study designed a blended learning module, combining the advantages of both online courses and traditional classes to integrate student’s knowledge of the inner ring and the creation of a mixed classroom learning environment, and equally emphases students’ "main body" position and the instructors’ "leading" role, as well as optimizes the learning result and quality by the hybrid teaching method. This dissertation is based on a fortnight-long practical blend teaching, which recorded the teaching activities of Chapter VIII in physical chemistry using the platform Blackboard. And we posted questionnaires about the application of the platform to the students who attended the class to evaluate the using effect of Blackboard, and to probe the application of Blackboard in teaching as well as the teaching pattern of the blend teaching. And then the questionnaire was analyzed from five aspects:the learning condition for students to reach informatization, the usage rate of the platform, the adaptability of the platform, the recognition of the learning pattern, and the suggestion of the students. Based on the feedback of the students, some suggestions and plans are put forward for the informatization teaching and the flip teaching based on blend teaching, which can be used for a reference for further research and make a better use of Blackboard for teaching.
