In recent years, China has increased investment in vocational education. Secondary vocational education, as an important part of vocational education, has made outstanding contribution to bringing up technicians for the society. In this paper, the author combines teaching goals of secondary vocational education and the present teaching situation of the author’s practice school, and developed two projects in the course of "Web Design and Production":"homepage of vocational schools" and "company website". The practice results show that project teaching method can effectively improve students’ learning achievement, learning interest and learning motivation, enhancing the teaching effect. At the same time, it cultivates students’ innovation ability and team spirit. Compared with traditional teaching method, project teaching method not only promotes student’s internalization of theoretical knowledge, but also improves student’s practical ability, meets the goal of training talents in vocational schools, and effectively solves the employment issue of secondary vocational students. In short, the project teaching method has a positive effect on the computer professional course "web design and production".This paper is divided into five parts, the introduction, the summary of project teaching method, the applicability analysis on project teaching method to the course of web design in technical secondary vocational school, the experimental research in web design and production based on project teaching, and the research conclusion and prospect.The first chapter is the introduction part. It embarks from the reform of vocational education policy in our country, analyses the current problems in the secondary vocational school and proposes the research content, significance and methodology of this paper.The second chapter briefly expounds the definition of project teaching method, the theoretical foundation of project teaching method, and the features of project teaching method that distinguish it from traditional teaching method. Finally, it analyses the five steps of project teaching method.The third chapter investigates the status quo of teaching in "web design and production" course, and then analyses the three important elements in project teaching (teachers, students and project) to see if project teaching method is applicable to "web design and production" course in secondary vocational school.The fourth chapter is the key part of this paper. It elaborates the actual research of project teaching method in the course of web design and production. First, the teaching experiment, the experiment objects, the purpose and hypotheses, the experimental environment, the time of the experiment, the experiment materials and the control over the experiment are analyzed, two experiment teaching cases are given according to the project scheme; the teaching implementation process is also expounded in this part. In addition, tests and questionnaires are used both before and after the experiment.Chapter Five is the research conclusion and prospect. It analyses the experimental results, summarizes the research conclusion of this paper, and explains the limitations in the research. Finally, research prospects are put forward.
