Since the new curriculum reform in twenty-first Century, the state and the relevant departments have repeatedly referred to the relevant objectives and requirements of the national,local and school’s three levels curriculum management in various programs and documents.Under the guidance of this, the local schools have also attached great importance to the creation of local courses, in order to strengthen the contact between the students and the community and highlight local cultural characteristics. As a historical subject, it has a unique condition for the creation of local history curriculum. As a history teacher, we have the mission for the development and utilization of local history curriculum resources.I carried out some research and Research on how to integrate the local history curriculum resources of Wuxi canal culture into the high school and history teaching. In the course of the investigation, some problems are founded, such as: the teaching content is not systematic; time is limited; the form is single and so on. In order to further improve the effectiveness of local history in the history teaching, the author tries to demonstrate the feasibility of the combination of local history and high school history teaching from the perspective of the Wuxi canal culture, in order to solve the problems existing in the past.This thesis mainly consists of five parts.Part one: Introduction. This paper mainly discusses the purpose and significance of the research, domestic and foreign research review, research methods and innovation, as well as the definition of basic concepts, such as curriculum resources, history curriculum resources, the history of local history curriculum resources, Wuxi Grand Canal Culture and other concepts.Part two: The significance of the research on the development and utilization of the local history curriculum resources of the Wuxi canal culture. The article considers that if the development of the local history is explored properly, it is of great significance. First, it can cultivate students’ interest of learning history. Second, it can stimulate students’ love of their hometown and the motherland. Third, it can change the students’ learning methods, and improve students’ comprehensive ability. Four, it can improve teachers’ academic accomplishment, and promote the comprehensive development of teachers. Five, it can form a historical group anddevelop the school’s unique characteristics.Part three: This part mainly discusses the development and utilization of the local history curriculum resources. Local characteristic principle, since it belongs to the Wuxi canal culture,should pay attention to have the characteristics of Wuxi with the characteristics of the canal culture. The comprehensive principle, breaking the disciplinary boundaries, has great influence on the multi-disciplinary knowledge of organic integration, in which case, we can learn from each other. The principle of accuracy and objectivity, which the development of local history should also follow.Part four: This part mainly discusses the practice of the development and utilization of the Wuxi canal culture curriculum resources. This is the core part of the article, which indicates the development and utilization of the advantages of the research, the development and utilization of the method and the approach and the preparation of the “Wuxi canal culture”.Part five: This paper expounds the problems existing in the development of Wuxi canal culture curriculum resources, such as the lack of perfect evaluation mechanism and the lack of comprehensive practical activities.In the process of research and writing, the author deeply felt that if it really can go into a thorough study of this topic, it is of great importance for the students, history teachers and even to the schools and places. The author hopes this research can provide reference for the author and his colleagues in the teaching of local history.
