In China’s new round of middle school history new curriculum reform, the development andutilization of local history curriculum resources has played an important role. China is vast interritory and varies from region to region,which is the unique advantage of native history teaching.The use of native history resources has become a bright spot. Local history curriculum resources arethe resources around the students, also are the most compelling, most receptive resources. Weihaihas long history and deep cultural heritage, which is beneficial for our history teacher to use toteach. The use of local history resources adds vitality to the middle school history teaching. It isalso important reality to achieve better teaching goals and promote the history curriculum reform.This article mainly discusses and explains in detail how to exploit local resources and explores themeans of applicating them by using the teaching practice methods and analyzing the teaching cases.In the introduction section of this article describes the background, research state of thetopics presented. The body is divided into five parts.Part I first explains the concept and classification of local history resources and the principlesthat should be followed when developed and utilized.Part II focuses on the rich local history resources and its utilization value in Weihai.The third part combines the practical work, elaborate ways of exploitation and utilization oflocal history curriculum resources: Interspersed with local history resources in the regularclassroom teaching;Launch inquiry learning around local history curriculum resources;Holdspecial lectures by using local history resources;To develop social practice activities..Part IV arouses students’ interest in studying history to increase motivation; Education onpatriotism;Conducive to the promotion of teachers’ professional development; Help to promotehistory curriculum reform in middle school;To protect local cultures and promote tourismdevelopment in Weihai, which explains the role and significance of the development and utilizationof local history curriculum resources.Part V focuses on the further strengthening of the development and utilization of local historycurriculum resources and put forward its own proposals and ideas.
