With the development of social economy, there is a growing demand on medical level and the quality of nursing service. Nursing industry is of high risk and pressure so that clinical nurses are always overloaded and are faced with numerous inspections, examinations and trainings. As a result, they are in sub-health and job burnout aggravates gradually. The problem of job burnout of clinical nurses has aroused public attention. It is believed that with stronger protection on the physical and mental health of them, they will able to provide better nursing service, which indicates the people will enjoy better hospitalizing experience.This study is founded on Cognitive Theory and Conflicting Theory and is carried out through questionnaires and in-depth interviews on nurses from 16 clinical sections during the writer’s internship in Ji’an J Hospital, and with the help of Action Research to inspect the working environment and psychological changes of them. It examines and illustrates the level of job burnout, its causes and effects. Job burnout serving as the focus point, the thesis integrates the resources, apply specialized social work methods and delve into group and individual cases. It aims at helping clinical nurses to alleviate burnout, enhance the ability to deal with burnout, motivate their working so as to cope with life and work in high spirits.The last part reflects on and makes a conclusion on the individual and group activities in order to find out the strengths and weaknesses of those specialized activities. Via a comparison of job burnout level before and after the intervention of social worker in a team, it is detected that there is a noticeable improvement on the burnout phenomenon. This proves that the intervention of social work is operable, feasible and effective. The study’s goal is to provide practical reference and suggestions for social work intervention in job burnout of clinical nurses in the future.
