China is a typical multi-ethnic and multi-lingual country. Owing to the variety of natural geography, historical background, political factors, cultural traditions and so on, all nationalities have their own distinctive national characteristics, which forms the situation of multicultural coexistence. Multicultural education is an important means to achieve the development of multiculturalism. In terms of the current situation of ethnic minority areas, minority bilingual education is an important component of multicultural education. What is more, minority bilingual education offers an effective way to promote the development of ethnic areas and multicultural development.Liangshan Yi region is a typical area of bilingual education in ethnic minority. This article briefly reviews the history of Yi-Chinese Bilingual Educational Development in the region, and we take Zhaojue County in the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture as a case to conduct the research of Yi Chinese Bilingual Education thoroughly.Generally speaking, the Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education has made remarkable achievements. First of all, the perfection of relevant public service, including education finance, relevant policies, teaching facilities and bilingual textbooks. What is more, the successful practice and advantages of two models of the Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education. In addition, the achievement of Yi Chinese Bilingual Education, including aspects of the expansion of school size, the increase of school enrollment and graduation rates, etc. Followed by the effectiveness of the conceptual change in bilingual education. Finally, gratifying results in the protection and inheritance of the Yi traditional culture during the course of bilingual education. As an important part of multicultural education, Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education on the one hand promoted the Yi people into the mainstream society and promoted the modernization of Liangshan Yi in the Liangshan Yi region. On the other hand, Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education made contributions to the dual identity of the Yi people in their nation and all the country. The implementation and development of Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education promotes the realization of the ideal goal of multicultural education.However, it cannot be denied that some problems arise in the implementation of Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education. The first is related to public services, including the imperfection of school layout, infrastructure conditions, teachers, policy and other services. Followed by the defects of the system of Yi Chinese Bilingual Education. In addition, the issues in the process of bilingual education, including language barriers, teaching effect, educational gap. Finally, the fragmentation of Yi traditional culture during the implementation of Bilingual Education, which is not conducive to the inheritance of Yi’s cultural heritage and is adverse to equal intercommunion of national cultures and maintaining cultural diversity. Which is worse, it is bad for the dual identity of the Yi people in their nation and all the country. These problems above all restrict the development of bilingual education in Liangshan Yi region to some extent, which lead to the restriction of the realization of the ideal goal of multicultural education.As an important part of Multicultural Education, minority Bilingual Education is an effective way to achieve the desired objectives of multicultural education. It is the implementation of Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education that improves the level of local education, promotes the communication between nationalities, preserve the cultural diversity, and enhance the dual identity of the nationalities and all the country. Thus, as far as the practical situations and problems of the bilingual education, we are supposed to explore and adjust steadily. At present, effective measures should be taken to during the implementation of Bilingual Education. Firstly, to enhance the guarantee of the public service, including increasing educational funds, relevant policies, and the improvement of the teachers. Secondly, to standardize and perfect the system of Yi-Chinese Bilingual Education. Finally, to explore effective strategies to protect and pass on the traditional culture of Yi in the process of bilingual education so as to achieve the goal of the coexistence of multicultural education. By continuous exploring and adjusting, can we promote the healthy development of bilingual education in Liangshan Yi area and so as to make the bilingual education beneficial to help them integrate into mainstream society and facilitate the progress and development of Liangshan Yi regions. What is more, promote^ the inheritance of the Yi traditional culture and the development of multicultural and enhance the dual identity of the Yi people in their nation and all the country. Therefore, by the effective way of Yi-Chinese bilingual education, can we realize the ideal goal and the good original intention of bilingual education in Liangshan Yi regions.
