The junior school students have heavy learning burdens which gives them high pressure.There also exists a common phenomenon----academic procrastination. It not only influences the students learning results but also brings them negative emotional experience. So more and more attention must be paid to it. The research, which takes the students in No. 1 middle school as the object and uses the self-efficacy scale, academic delay of gratification questionnaire and the academic procrastination questionnaire as the research tools, aims to understand the current situation of procrastination and the relationship among the self-efficacy, academic delay of gratification and academic procrastination. The research released 350 pieces of questionnaire and314 pieces were effective. The research data was analyzed by using SPSS17.0, and the conclusions are as follows:1.There exists a common phenomenon of academic procrastination in senior school. Most of the students are at a moderate level of procrastination. Students who are at a general or serious level of procrastination are relatively less.2.There is no big difference between the overall level of procrastination of boys and girls.Analyzed from the fractal dimension, the girls’ learning attitude is more active, and more planned than boys. But on the contrary, the boys have better sense than the girls.3.Significant difference of academic procrastination level exists among different grades.From the overall level, students in grade one and grade two have more serious academic procrastination than the ones in grade three. From the fractal dimension of negative learning attitude and learning behavior lag, students in grade one and two got no big difference, but more serious than students in grade three. There’s also no big difference exists in the dimension of lack of learning judgment. Students in grade one have higher self-efficacy than students in grade three, but no significant difference exists between grade two and the other two grades. From the dimension of lack of learning plan, the difference between grade one and grade two, grade one and grade three is tiny, but significant difference exists between grade two and grade three.4.The self-efficacy is inversely proportional to academic procrastination. Students of high self-efficacy seldom have academic procrastination.5.Academic delay of gratification is inversely proportional to academic procrastination.6.The self-efficacy is proportional to academic delay of gratification. Students of high academic delay of gratification also have high self-efficacy.
