Patriotism is an eternal theme, which is a cultural tradition for thousands of years in China. Since the founding of new China,2015, President Xi Jinping presided over the twenty-ninth collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, which stressed the need to vigorously carry forward the spirit of patriotism, so that the spirit of patriotism firmly is rooted in the minds of young people. School is the main place to carry out patriotism education, and Literature Course is the main subject of school education with more and long teaching time, and it is an important resource of the education of patriotism. Junior high school stage is the key period of the development of students, the spiritual education on students is particularly important.Basing on patriotism education in the Chinese Textbooks of junior high school, this paper analyzes the content selection and arrangement of patriotism education in the Chinese Textbooks of junior middle school, discusses the existing problems and make suggestions by using content analysis method and literature research method. The full paper is divided into four chapters:the first chapter -- requirements analysis; the second kind--content selection analysis; the third chapter--the present situation and the problem of the content arrangement; the fourth chapter--suggestion. According to the research results, the patriotic education in the Chinese Textbooks of junior middle school is rich in content, but the unit which takes patriotic as theme is less. Due to the limitation of the subject, the non - patriotic theme unit plays the uncertain role in patriotism education. So the author gives some suggestions. In choosing the contents of patriotism:to keep pace with the times; to get close to the student life, and enter into the heart of the students; to strengthen the cohesion and integration of the content of patriotism education. In content arrangement:to increase the works of contemporary patriotism education; to take the psychological characteristics of students into consideration in the arrangement of patriotism; to improving students’practice ability of patriotism; to carry out the practice of cross disciplinary patriotism education and strengthen the interaction among subjects; to increase the number of units that takes patriotism as theme. In the teaching of teachers: teachers should improve their patriotism, consciously practice the patriotic education; teachers should get rid of the single teaching form, and try a variety of teaching methods.
