teaching material are the most important carrier of teaching, its quality will directly determine effective implementation of the new curriculum, and the "comprehensive and practice" of elementary school mathematics textbook is a very unique knowledge field of the new curriculum, the implementation of China’s "one outline several versions", resulting in the " comprehensive and practice" of different versions of elementary school mathematics textbooks have their own characteristics and shortcomings. this paper, in accordance with the concept of new curriculum standards, select the "Comprehensive and practice" of the "PEP edition", "Jiangsu education edition" and "Beijing Normal University edition " as the research object, adopt the manners of comparison method, documentary method and content analysis method etc., to conduct the comparative study from the two dimensions of content arrangement and presentation, hope to make propose some corresponding recommendations for the textbook editors and teachers. This paper consists of five parts:first, the introduction part presents the background, introduces the research significance, clarifies the core concepts, and writes the literature review and to make clear about the writing ideas and methods, and points out the innovation shortcomings of this paper; the second part is the research of the old and new compiling ideas of the Compulsory education mathematics curriculum standard and its differences of practice, to find out their respective similarities and differences of theories, lay the theoretical foundation for the entire paper; the third parts has conducted comparison of the primary school mathematics textbook "comprehensive and practice" of PEP edition, Jiangsu Education edition and Beijing Normal University Edition; the fourth part is the comparison of the presentation manner of the Primary School Mathematics Textbooks "comprehensive and practice" in the Jiangsu education edition, PEP edition and Beijing Normal University; The fifth part is according to the comparative analysis of the two chapters above, propose the suggestions to the editors that the numbers of topic should be moderate, the distribution should be balance; the selection of the material should to be rich, the sources should be balanced; title content should be concise, tightly undertake the former passage and link with others knowledge fields; evaluation methods tends to self evaluation, advocates emotion encouragement; the column should be diversified, the design should be appropriate; the knowledge questions should be plentiful, the practices should be diversified; the language presentation should be refined, subject of expression should be the second person; the structure should be clear illustrated with images and texts. At the same time, advocate the teachers should study the new curriculum standard seriously and correctly; pay attention to the formation of the curriculum implementation; explore and create the guiding ability etc.The paper conducts comparative study over the "comprehensive and practice" unit, the research results provide a certain references at the compiling and teaching aspects for the study of corresponding content in our country, but due to many reasons such as do not conduct direct communication with the editors, to understand their intentions of compiling, the ability limitations of the author and inferior research of materials etc., these all need further exploration.
