With the gradual advance of the new curriculum reform of our country, new moral and social curriculum standard occurred some changes, classroom teaching no longer use of indoctrination, too much emphasis on the pursuit of results, but pay more attention to the teaching method and the teaching process. But in the actual teaching, there are still some problems. Teachers do not pay enough attention to the teaching design of morality and society, and there is no experiential learning in the classroom. At present, there is little research on the moral and social instructional design based on experiential learning theory in the academic field.In order to ensure the achievement of teaching objectives and the smooth progress of teaching activities, the teaching plan should be made in advance. Design of teaching means teachers by using the appropriate system method, an accurate analysis of the problems existing in the teaching and some restricting conditions, selection and determine the appropriate form of teaching programmes and activities to achieve the purpose of teaching effect. The teachers can promote the students’ effective learning through the teaching activities according to the teaching plan. Each teacher should have the correct teaching design concept, master the comprehensive teaching method, so as to make the student oriented, promote each student’s development, improve their teaching design ability.The author mainly uses the method of literature research, case study, questionnaire investigation and so on. The research of this paper is based on the theory of experiential learning, moral character and social teaching design. The first is based on the theory of experiential learning theory of moral and social teaching design theory. In the paper, the theory and strategy of experiential learning are analyzed, and the practical significance of experiential learning theory is discussed. The second is the status of thematic unit teaching design. Through the investigation of the current situation of teachers and students, the understanding of the current moral and social class teachers’ understanding of the teaching design, the students’ basic understanding of moral and social curriculum, and so on, through the analysis to explain the reasons. Then, according to the current situation of teaching design, the teaching process of "smart consumer" theme unit is designed based on experience learning theory. The last is the implementation and reflection of thematic unit teaching design. To sum up and reflect the whole specific teaching design conception, and then draw the conclusion and suggestions for the improvement of the teaching design.
