Nowadays, Chinese language learning is becoming more and more popular. A lot of foreign students choose to study in China, learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture. These trends are especially discernible in Southeast Asian countries like Thailand. While studying in China, in addition to learning language, foreign students have to face a great challenge, which is adapting to new lifestyle. When people enter a new environment they always go through a period of adaptation, which is different for everyone. Some of the people are able to adapt quickly, when others need quite long time to adjust and as a result, it can influence their learning performance, life conditions and psychological aspects. In order to understand the condition of foreign students life adaptability and problems they are encountering during adaptation process, this thesis takes Thailand students of Yunnan Normal University as a main research object. This kind of study is not only beneficial to promoting academic exchanges between China and Thailand, but it also helps Chinese students to understand Thailand students’ life and learning style, which is good for improving the communication and life adaptability of international students.This study is using questionnaire, literature overview, interviews and other references to foreign and domestic related research results. Author carried out a survey about situation of Yunnan Normal University Thailand students life adaptation and examined their interpersonal communication, daily life routine, eating habits, religious beliefs, etc. A thorough observation study was conducted and the factors that influenced the adaptability of Thailand international students to live in China were obtained.This thesis consists of four parts. The first part is an introduction, it presents the reason of the topic selection, the significance of the study, the current situation of related research, the summary of the related research results and explains the theory and method of the research. The second part presents the questionnaire, surveying methods and analyzes the adaptability process of Thailand international students in China. The third part, according to the survey analysis results, describes main factors influencing Thai students life adaptation process, such as study purpose, religious beliefs, social support, food culture, living environment, language, cultural and sports activities. The fourth part is the conclusion, author, based on the analysis results, provides some suggestions.
