Private Universities In China Development Research

After more than 10-year rapid development, China's private education has been an important constitution of the Chinese education. And over one thousand flourishing private institutions of higher learning have made up beautiful scenery in China's higher education. But with the good and the bad being mixed up and developing unevenly, their images as a whole are not very good. As most of them being small in size, low in level, unstable in faculty, weak in administration and poor in management conditions, their strength for succeeding development is obviously insufficient and numerous concealed risks are accompanying them.Under the background of economic globalization and rapid growth in both China' s economy and society in the new century, the popularization of higher education is an impersonal trend. And beyond doubt this trend will bring new opportunities and space of development for the private colleges and universities. Facing the opportunities brought forth by the popularization of higher education and industrialization of education, how the private colleges and universities grasp the opportunities to quicken their development is becoming especially important.This thesis is trying to probe into the development of China' s higher education and look for countermeasuresas well as new ways of thinking for the development of private colleges and universities by means of data analysis, demonstration study, references study and deliberative study. First, a summary account is given to the development of China's higher education, mass higher education and industrialization of education as well as the development of private colleges and universities. Then, in addition to analyzing the problems that have come forth in the growth of the private colleges and universities, a number of important concepts concerned are also defined in order to go deeper into the study.The thesis brings forward the ideas of professional principals, running schools and shares encouraging fund. In order to achieve a balance between the law of education and the law of economy, the private colleges and universities need not only stress quality and distinguishing features of their education, but also strive for economic benefits. And this requires the principals to be a professional one who knows education and is good at administration and management, with the abilities to administrate, manage and carry out scientific research under the conditions of market economy.After a detailed analysis of the internal conditions and the external surroundings, this thesis carries out the research from several aspects such as education quality, distinguishing features, innovation as well asmanagement, campus culture and brand on the purpose to provide ways of thinking and proposals for the development of private colleges and universities.
