| Whether instruction is successful or not directly relates to the selection of instructional methods. As a result, instructional method is continuously focused in the fields of research. As this paper suggests, researches on how to select instructional methods are of great significance both in theory and practice.Based on the real cases of classroom teaching, the paper analyses the situations of the selection of instructional methods by teachers from following four parts:Part one is a development for theories of instructional methods. On the basis of theories of teacher-student interaction, the author classified the instructional methods into the following four types from the angle of contradictory relationship among teachers, students and teaching content. The four types are: transmitting type, shaping type, guiding type and developing type. Among which, the transmitting type and shaping type can be considered as traditional instructional method, and the guiding type and developing type can be considered modern one.Part two is a survey of the selection of instructional methods by teachers. By analyzing teaching plan and classroom teaching, we conclude more than ten instructional methods which often selected by teachers. Moreover, we find out teachers are choosing and using a method in a mechanical, casual way and still take the traditional one as their first choice.Part three is an analysis of the factors of influence on selecting instructional methods. These factors include teacher, student, teaching content and environment.Part four is a reflection of the present selection of instructional methods from three aspects. First, how to understand the problems while selecting instructional methods; Second, how to understand the use of traditional instructional method; At last, how to understand the reform of instructional method. |
