| Curriculum Standards of Information Technology for primary and secondary schools advocate taking interest as the starting point,taking activities as the carrier,and paying attention to students’ dominant position.At present,there are some problems in the information technology classroom,such as single teaching method,boring course content and students’ passive learning of knowledge,which affect students’ learning interest in programming and students’ attention in the information technology classroom.It is urgent to introduce new teaching concepts and teaching models in the middle school programming classroom to improve the existing problems.The concept of Game Based Learning(GBL)meets the requirements of the Curriculum Standard.Teachers can combine the concept of GBL with the information technology curriculum,and carry out scientific design and implementation with students as the main body.The purpose is to enhance the interest of the course content,stimulate students’ learning motivation,improve students’ attention in class,and promote students’ process participation and teaching effect.This study selected eighth grade students from M Middle School to analyze their current programming level and learning enthusiasm.Aiming at the existing weakness of five-step method based on GBL in quantifying students’ learning effect and teachers’ teaching effect,the method based on GBL in this research was designed and the original activity design was divided into game design and game activity.The game design session combines Classroom Multiplayer Presential Games,offline classroom activities,turtle editor and scratch tools to carry out teaching design.The game design section combines classroom multiplayer demo games,offline classroom activities,turtle editor and scratch tool to carry out instructional design;In the newly added game activities,teachers use classroom observation method to grade students’ classroom performance according to the five dimensions of preparation,listening,interaction,autonomy and achievement,and fill in the Classroom Observation Scale to strengthen the process evaluation of students.Finally,the method based on GBL for Junior High School Python Curriculum is applied to practice in middle schools.By comparing the results before and after practice,it is analyzed whether the the method based on GBL for Junior High School Python Curriculum can improve students’ learning enthusiasm and improve students’ inattention in class.The results showed that the proportion of students who were not interested in programming decreased from 11.5% to 1%,indicating that GBL not only makes abstract knowledge easier to understand,but also stimulates students’ curiosity and interest in programming,making them more active in learning activities.The proportion of students paying attention in class increased from 46% to 91%,indicating that the game mechanism and game elements designed by the method based on GBL for Junior High School Python Curriculum can make students more focused on class and easier to form flow.In addition,students learn to use programming languages to solve real life problems.Therefore,the method based on GBL for Junior High School Python Curriculum provides new ideas and practical experience for middle school information technology curriculum reform. |
