It is the times of information economy now, which requires innovative talent and thus education is in the face of challenges. In order to adapt to the need of talent of future society, we must change our concept of education, teaching mode and students' learning methods. Well then, how can we train students' innovative power and consciousness and thereby give prominence to their status of principal parts and change their way of learning? Practice shows that research study is the best way.Biology is the first subject of natural science that students get in touch with in high school and it is mainly carried out through experimentation. However for a long period of time, due to various causes, many teachers have taught it as a descriptive course not only in contents but also in methods. Teachers repeat what the books say and students learn the texts by heart to cope with examinations. Teachers almost talk through the whole class with few exercises and discussions. The lively biology class has become a dull subject. Students' principal parts are not paid due attention to. Aiming at this actuality, I raise the task The Application of Research Study in Biology in order to find out an effective way to improve students' abilities of research, study and solving problems through further studies and discussions.From the aspects of theory and practice, I discuss the essence of research study and its implementation in biology teaching. Theoretically, I discuss the function of research study hi high school biology teaching on the basis of education theories, cognitive frame of references , Piyaji's building up study theory, and constructive theories. In teaching process, construct a teaching mode on the basis of students' principal parts and independent activities. According to the characteristics of students' physical and mental development, change the old methods and make students learn scientific knowledge and experience the process of research by themselves.Through nearly two years of study and discussion, I appraised die results of research study by means of questionnaires, interviews , aptitude tests, and files. I put forward the teaching methods, approaches and principles to change students' learning methods so as to offer theoretical and practical references for nature biology teaching.
