The fifth item of the law of compulsory education of the People's Republic of China made in 1986 prescibes: "any child,who is 6 years old,must go to school to get the designed-year compulsory education,whatever sex,nation and race.But it can be postponed to 7 if conditions are not allowed.The Law also emphasized:the right for the children and adolescents to receive compulsory education is protected by our nation,society ,schools and family ,acording to laws.We have made much achievment in popularizing 9-year compulsory education and the result is obvious. "Since 1980 to 1996, the enrollment rate of school age child of the primary school has increased from 93% to 98.6% and the upgrading rate of the primary school's alumni has increased from 75.9% to 92.6%. More than 92% of the whole nation have popularized the primary school education. Among more than 2400 countries(cities -. districts), 1482 countries(cities -. districts) and ambulatory units have popularized 9-year compulsory education. The population coverage rate of the 9-year compulsory education has come to 52.5%.The enrollment rate of secondary school also increased from 70% in the early 1990s to 82.4%,The outcome is inspiring.But at the same time we must notice that the large amount of dropout student in rural junior schools are now troubling the development of rural education!Since 1996,the situation of dropout of rural junior school student kept deteriorating ,and the tendency of it will be worse. The dropout rate of some areas have come to more than 20%. The large amount of dropout students in rural junior schools will not only hold back the process of popularization of the 9-year compulsory education,aggrevate the two-foundation,but also affect the development of rural areas ,even hold up the development of the whole nation.The author claims :the reason of the student dropout in rural areas should not be ascribed only to poverty of economics,but also to the poverty of culture and education,to the poverty of ration and conscience.lt need the whole society to pay attention to and back up in controling the dropout of rural junior school and making the dropout students go back school earlier.The thesis tries to probe the deeper reason hidden in the student dropout,reveal the truth of the enrollment and dropout and put forward fessible solutions through self-experience.The dissertation can be divided into three parts:Part One:Display the real situation of dropout of rural junior school students currently according to the realistic problems and discuss the hazard it caused to society and themselves on the whole .Part Two: winkle the truth of current dropout of rural junior school students .analyse some factors which affect the student dropout on the macroscopic and microscopic level, reveal the reason of the dropout.Part Three:facing the situation and the reason of the student dropout currently,put forward some solutions.
