| The orientation of curricular value is the soul and the orientation of the curriculum. It is necessary for the richness of the curricular ethic meaning to explore the orientation of curricular value and prompt the educational "goodness".This paper explores the "ought to be" orientation of curricular value by analyzing the curricular value from two perspectives: the choice of the valuable subject and the choice of the valuable meaning. And then this paper explores and reflects rationally the orientation of traditional curricular value in China and draws the conclusion that the loss of vitality of the design of traditional curriculum derives from the "the losing of man". The deviation of the orientation of curricular value leads to the crisis and the missing of the foundational education.
