Under the environment of opening to the outside and deepening reform day byday, the autonomy of running a school that the general middle school has is greaterand greater. However, the result of running a school of each middle school differswidely. Tracing it to its cause, it depends on whether this school has chosen thecharacteristic developing road. The characteristic is the vitality of a school. It can notonly make the century-old old schools radiate vigor but also make the newly-builtschools develop in a healthy way, grow up strong and sturdy. By means ofcharacteristic, one school can show one's own striving direction and the school goal tooutside, accept participation and supervision from society to form pressure; at thesame time, one school can form characteristic lead inwards and centripetal forceamong the faculty and staff to form motive force.Discipline teaching is the educational center of teaching. Catching the center, alot of schools go on some reform experiments, obtain satisfactory achievement, gaingood public praise at society, and open a new situation for school. And the foreignmaterials also show, no matter the weak schools or the famous schools, can establishone's own characteristic to promote the quality of running a school. Though practicelays particular emphasis on different aspects to some extent, these experiments are notsystematic, which can not provide more systematic reference experience for otherschools. In view of this , I select the title as my graduation thesis.In the course of research, using the methods of investigating through literaturesearch , interview and case etc. Analyzing the experiences of Shanghai QixiuExperimental Middle School and Putuo Xinhui Middle School, sum up the systematicgeneral tactics for middle schools how to establish characteristic discipline.The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is the experience summary ofthe two schools. The characteristic of mathematics discipline of Xinhui MiddleSchool is teacher education. In the thesis, first introduce the experience on the whole,and then show by way of case the experience of how to create the school-basedteaching group. The characteristic of Qixiu Experimental Middle School is theteaching of foreign language, mainly carried on the reform of English teaching:Discipline of English strengthens spoken teaching, and the disciplines of othersubjects implement bilingual teaching.
