Due to the obvious advantages of discipline development and close contact with the industry,China's industry-specific universities have great potential to impact world-class universities and first-class disciplines.However,at present,due to the implementation of industry administration for many years,mainly docking industry services,and less considering the needs of society as a whole,there are some phenomena,such as single discipline construction,narrow scientific research direction and so on.Based on the comprehensive analysis of the research results of various scholars on industry characteristic universities,this study focuses on the main line of discipline construction of industry characteristic universities.Why does the discipline development of China's industry-specific universities have different discipline construction goals in different periods under the background of the current "double-first-class" construction?In other words,the explanation of "de-professionalization" and "return to professionalization" of the discipline construction path of industry-characteristic universities in ChinaBased on the theory of sociological institutionalism,this study uses case analysis,interview and other research methods to analyze the connotation,organizational characteristics and operating mechanism of discipline construction of industry-specific universities in China.On the basis of theoretical research,this study takes a representative industry characteristic university in C city as an example to analyze the discipline construction of industry characteristic university.Finally,it is found that the following problems are exposed in the process of its implementation:the goal of discipline construction is not clear and utilitarian;the competitiveness of characteristic disciplines is insufficient,and the characteristics of disciplines are not obvious;at the level of cultural identity of discipline construction,the sense of identity of discipline construction between teachers and students is insufficient,there is also conflict between discipline logic and industry logic,organizational cognitive culture,and the formalism of assessment methods and the system of rewards and punishments are insufficient.Based on this,this paper analyzes the causes of the above dilemma from the perspective of the environment of the discipline,the cognitive style of the discipline within the organization,the culture of the discipline and the logic of the system itself.Through the analysis,we can know that in order to promote the discipline construction of industry characteristic universities in China and promote the development of discipline characteristics better and more pertinently,we need the correct guidance of external forces,strengthen the understanding of discipline development within the organization,and balance disciplines and industry logic.finally,the discipline development and construction of industry characteristic universities can be truly integrated into China's higher education system,and promote the better development of industry characteristic universities.
