School effectiveness research has always been a hot issue study in the area of school management since the latter part of twenty century, which reflects the trend of research transformation from teaching and curriculum area to the whole school area. The enhancement of school effectiveness is an action and process which school organization adopts to achieve high effectiveness. Its purpose is to promote school improvement and school development. This thesismainly adopts two methods of research------documental research and the theory analysis------based on analyzing the documents of theoretical research and test research of school effectiveness theory. Through gathering and sorting out the relative materials about school effectiveness and its enhancement which put emphasis on the definition of school effectiveness, the relative factors and characteristics of effective school and the concept of school effectiveness framework from domestic and foreign documents, the thesis gives a conclusion on what is the core connotation of school effectiveness research. At the same time, the author regards the school as an organizational system and analyzes its enhancement framework of school effectiveness from two dimensions: school organization context and school participative subject. And then the thesis attempts to give the idea about the enhancement of school effectiveness in practical level.School effectiveness is the extent to which the school organization system arrive the school objectives through a series of processes in a certain context. The research framework of school effectiveness must take three elements—school objectives, school process and school context— under consideration. Because of the multi-objectives of school effectiveness and the differences of school context, the enhancement of school effectiveness has the characteristics of entirety and "value-added".The framework of the enhancement of school effectiveness can be studied in two dimensions: school organization context and school participative subject The dimension of school organization context includes four elements, which are the effectiveness of school leadership, the effectiveness of school intercommunication, the effectiveness of educational resources and strong school culture. The dimension of participative subject includes two main elements: principal and teacher.Based on the exploration of the theory -enhancement of school effectiveness, the thesis attempts to provide a framework for the enhancement of school effectiveness by giving the idea of how the school could enhance its effectiveness in the practice level.
