History of human beings has been produced since mankind came into being. People have created different cultures with colorful and various features due to the differences between the locations they are in and the ways they work and live. As the result of these, the history is full of the liveliness. Unfortunately, the lively history has disappeared. How can we rediscover it? It is involved with that we should look closely at the key problem — what are the real history and the science of history? And it is also concerned whether there are differences between the historical works and the history textbooks and what they are. As a high school history teacher, it is more important for us how to state what the textbooks tell us and make the dead history come to life again by the means of the creativities in history teaching. In this way the lively history will be passed down generation by generation. This essay talks about them in three stages.First, I'll state the differences between history and the science of history, emphasizing on the ways how we can rediscover the dead history by creativities in history teaching.Second, a statement will be presented to tell the differences between the historical works and the history textbooks, focusing on the effects coming from different teaching purposes of the different periods and the weak points that the history textbooks are very likely to be too simple compared with the real history and the shortage of the liveliness in history teaching.Third, I'll make a further inquiry into the writing of history textbooks and the ways how to rediscover the lively history with the help of textbooks and a series of creativities in history teaching. It is an important factor that a high school history teacher should state the lively history in vivid ways and it is the key feature in history teaching of high school.
