This study investigates, within the framework of the ecology of human development, the direct and indirect ecology of class curriculum. The thesis consists of three parts. In the part one, by drawing on the microsystem theory, the researcher makes an analysis of the class curriculum from the perspective of molar activity, interpersonal relation; as well as role. The researcher bases her analysis on the following concept: characteristics of molar activity which is conductive to the personal development, the characteristics of interpersonal structures and characteristics of role. It is hoped to reveal the direct ecology of class curriculum. In the part two, the researcher attemptes to investigate the indirect ecology from the angle of mesosystem, exosystem and macrosystem. On the mesosystem level, the mesosystem of children is classified into supportive mesosystem, contradicting mesosystem and weak mesosystem on the basis of different influences that mesosystem exert on development. On the exosystem level, the investigator examines factors like teachers' pressure from family; parents' occupation etc, and the influence of the above-mentioned factors on class curriculum. On the macrosystem level, the influence of socio-cultural value on class curriculm is discussed. In the part three, the researcher mainly discusses what inspiration can be drawn from the ecology of human development and how it can benefit the establishment of good class curriculum.
