It is very important to maintain properly erythrocyte rheology characteristic during or after exercise for oxygenic transportation, microcirculatical perfusion and blood's natural physiological funtion. Abnormal blood rheology after exercise is one of the reason for exercise -induced fatigue. It is also the factor of cardiovascular sysrem disease brought by exercise. So approach the mechanism of fatigue after training and take recovery measures has become the focal point in sports medical community at present. In this project, rats are trained to swim intensively for four weeks. Apply acupuncture and moxibustion to therapeutic group in ZUSANLI acupoint for 15 minutes after swimming. Fix the exercise group at the same time without acupuncture and moxibustion. Four weeks later, kill all the animals. The red blood cell form, plasma viscosity (PV) , blood viscosity (BV) , blood hydrogen viscosity (BHV) , mean red blood cell volumn (MCV) , hematocrit (Hct) , erythrocyte deformability index (TK) , erythrocyte aggregation index (RCA) are obrained and analyzed. In conclusion, the findings indicate that: (1) Fourweeks' intensive swimming make rats over fatigue. Their weight increase slowly and the exhaustive time for swimming shorten. (2) After four weeks' intensive swimming the rats' red blood cell form is destroyed, MCV and Hct decreased.(3) BV, BHV, TK, RCA of rats increased which mean the blood rheology worsen.(4) acupuncture and moxibustion can relieve the fatigue of rats. Their weight increase continuely and steadily. The exhaustive time for swimming lengthen. (5) acupuncture and moxibustion can improve the exercising rats' blood rheology, make red blood cell form and volumn return to normal, lower blood viscosity, maintain erythrocyte deformability and erythrocyte aggregation. The most important is that: as to erythrocyte aggregationindex, therapeutic group is not only better than exercise group, but also better than control group, which demonstrates the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on dredging channels and invigorating the circulation of blood.
