Since the ancient time, credibility has been the ethic standard in human communication. Fidelity and trust are consistent. Fidelity is the basis of trust and trust the performance of fidelity. For an individual, one cannot stand without credibility, which is the basis for people to live in society; for society, credibility is the promotion for social development. In modern society, credibility is not only the ethic standard in human communication, but also the basic principle for social activities. It is the core of social economic and political activities and it has great significance. University students play an important role in society, and they are in the key phase of forming view of life and value. So exploring the credibility problem of students is not only useful for understanding the present social situation, but also significant for directing correctly students' credibility opinion and fostering the future credibility society.The thesis, basing on surveying undergraduates on Shandon University, analyzes the credibility situation of university students, finds out the factors influencing the group and gives his own opinion for building students' credibility system from social capital theory.The thesis, besides preface and conclusion, concludes four parts: first, meaning of credibility and significance of studying students' credibility; second, retrospect and evaluation of reference;' third, analysis of students' credibility situation and influencing factors; fourth, build of students' credibility system.The preface of the thesis focuses on social significance of credibility and problem of present social credibility. Then it concludes that problem of students' credibility has been social problem that cannot be ignored. And then it states that it is significant to study credibility of university students.The first part of the thesis "meaning of credibility and significance of studying students' credibility", basing on basic meaning of credibility, states the importance of credibility from practical and theoretical aspects. Credibility is the basis for people to deal with society, the basic require for mutual activity with society, and it is also the important standard for controlling the country. At the same time, it brings out the difference between focusing on personal ethic quality and focusing on social order from view of value in traditional culture China and western countries.Credibility is important for individual, economics and politics. And credibility quality of university students concerns with present society and it can even influence development of future society. In theory, study of students' credibility can be discussed basing on "social capital" theory.The second part,"retrospect and evaluation of reference", concludes, summarizes, analyzes and evaluates the study results on credibility inside and outside the country, which gives an reference for the thesis theoretically and practically.The third part "analysis of students' credibility situation and influencing factors", basing on information collected, analyzes the present credibility situation of university students and gets the result that " credibility quality of students is higher compared with other groups; students learn less credibility than other groups; the knowing and doing is not consistent in credibility opinions of university students. It also analyzes the factors influencing students' credibility situation and gets the idea that the personal subjective influence and family influence are the basis of students credibility, which can also be influenced by the educational environment, traditional cultural opinions, social environment and problems of educational system.The fourth part "build of students' credibility system", basing on study of references and analysis of questionnaires, brings out the building of students' credibility system should be united with social credibility system. This build must be depended on the whole system. While building students' credibility education system in concrete, it brings in social capital theory and begins with credibility system, and considering the important role of the whole system it insists on improving the system from outside and promoting the credibility level of society.The conclusion summarizes the thesis. The credibility situation of students is not only important for students themselves, but also for the general situation of credibility in future society. The change of credibility situation should not only begin with students group, we should also consider the environment of the whole society. We should focus on the building and improving of educational system and start with whole social environment, using family functions, clean the atmosphere of politics, economics and social field, reform and improve the present educational system and form an atmosphere of respecting credibility.The study, observing university students, compounding analysis of relative words and questionnaire in study method and considering social capital theory, study credibility situation of university students, brings out the thought of building credibility system of students, which has some creating factors in method and theory.As the thesis focuses on study of credibility—the subjective mind activity, during designing questionnaire and practical survey, there must be some unperfected points, which are avoided on purpose by researchers. And that can change the representation of the results. This is the unperfected point expected to be improved in the future.
