The teaching of mathematics application in middle school are attached more and more importance all over the world nowadays. As mathematics application is used more and more widely, deep into various aspects of social life, it is paid more attention to in our country as well. The exercises of mathematics application is one of -the biggest hot spot in college entrance examination in our country. However, the problem that "Mathematics application is difficult to teach and difficult to learn" has been bothering students and teachers, while there are few researches on the relationship between teaching and learning. This research mainly studies about the aspects of mathematics application in senior high school which have not been deeply explored so far.The thesis is composed of four chapters.Chapter One introduces the background of the research, and explains the significance.Chapter Two makes a comment on some valuable achievements of some researches on the mathematics application.Chapter Three is composed of four parts. Part One uses the way of combining tests and interviews after the tests, finding out the major mistakes and obstacles of senior high students. In view of the tentative results of Part One; Part Two works out three strategies by experiments to overcome the obstacles, which are simplified sequential strategy, graphic strategy, and strategy of embedding and combining the structure. Basing on the strategies mentioned above; Part Three seeks to find out through the individual researches, the thinking process of the specific individuals when they are working on the exercises of mathematics application, and the differences of their thinking on the same problem.; Part Four talks about the learning of the exercises of mathematics application from different angles, which makes a summary of the experience and understanding about mathematics application of some experienced maths teachers by the way of questionnaires.Chapter Four is the summary of this research. It puts forwards some teaching proposals, points out some deficiencies of the thesis, and also raises some questions for follow-up researches.
