| In recent years, a teaching-model reform has taken place in China. Lots of Englishteachers in the high school carried out a teaching model "grammer ------translationmethod " during more than thirty years. With the development of society, that old teaching model couldn't solve some problems in the English teaching, for example: the students are lack of English-learning methods and independence in English learning. Chinese Education Department promulgated the latest curriculum criteria of senior school in 2001, which includes how to develop the students strategies to form self-regulated learning.In this thesis the author discusses the basic theory of self-regulated learning and some strategies, for example: cognitive strategies, modified strategies, communicative strategies, resource strategies and metacognitive strategies. And how to train the ability of students' autonomy based on these strategies. Only do the students master the good habits, the English learning abilities are improved. The process of the experiment of self-regulated learning is:First, this thesis surveys the English learning ability which the students of Grade 1 have mastered with the help of the questionnaire. There are three tests held in the process of teaching, which shows the changes of students learning. Second, the students are divided into three parts according to the first test, then the teacher begins to develop the learning strategies of students. When the students master and use these learning strategies to form their learning habits, the abilities of their English learning will be improved. The students are from two classes, one is used "self - regulated learning method", the other is used "grammer-translation method". Third, compared with the results of the final test, the first class are improved their English learning abilities, the other class have little improved. Before the experiment is finished. With the help of the final examination and the same questionnaire, the author finds out the "self-regulated learning" is an effient teaching model."self-regulated learning" is influenced by some factors. The teacher should help the students to solve the problems in the process of English learning. |
