The training of the scientific literacy to middle school students needs teachers with high standard scientific literacy. So far, studies on this topic hasn, t appeared quite much. To find out what level the middle school teachers in Dalian have on scientific literacy and to provide some references for improving it, about 285 teachers, selected from seven different middle schools in Dalian, have been asked to completed a series of self-edit questionnaires about the scientific literacy. The research result shows: 1. Teachers'scientific literacy has obvious differences in majors, teachers'scientific literacy of liberal arts or other majors is obviously lower than that of science department teachers. 2. Obvious educational differences exists in scientific attitudes and also scientific movements, undergraduate teachers are better than special grade teachers. 3. The differences in teaching ages, sexes and areas are not notable. 4. Their special knowledge of middle school is good , but not good at the senior school knowledge and even worse at the university knowledge.
