The main purpose of this study is to explore how to integrate the history of mathematics into mathematics teaching in senior high school. The action research method is adopted. Through the teaching contexts and cases in which the history of mathematics is incorporated, we further discuss the feelings of both teachers and students, identify the difficulties and problems that face us and explore the strategies and methods of solving the problems when integrating the history of mathematics into teaching.It is found that most students agree with the way of teaching in which history of mathematics is integrated. As to the functions of the history of mathematics, the students pay more attention to its help in mathematical cognition than to its help in arousing the interest, which they regard as less important. As far as the way of integrating the history of mathematics is concerned, the design of workcards using historical materials to assist students with their study is most favorably approved and welcome by students.On the other hand, during this study, the researcher's idea of the history of mathematics is changed, the way of applying the history of mathematics he adopts is gradually improved, his knowledge of HPM is extended, his ability of dealing with the textbooks, reflection and criticism is enhanced and his former teaching way of centering on teachers and breathing knowledge into students is thoroughly given up.Lastly, based on the findings of this study, some suggestions for integrating the history of mathematics into classroom teaching are given at the end of this thesis.
