On the process of the history of graduate education's development, we trace the marks of the growing of the graduate education. According to the history and the theoretics, we are confident to start the way of tracing . Two hundred years' researching, the educators are still eager to prove up the essence of the graduate education. We tries to realize the demonstration of the essence with three lays in the paper, with honesty.Essence is the provision of the quality. It is the relatively stable and necessary affiliation inside the things. Graduate education is the highest level of the high education, which foster the special intellectual after under-graduate education. As the research indicate, the three lays are supplement each other----its necessary relationship with the superstructure as the social phenomena, its characteristics as the one of the level of high education and the branch of the education, and the particularity of the function which is decided by the structure itself.Graduate is the cultivation and education for man, which is as the same as the essence of education. Pursuing all-round development is the aim of graduate education. While its relation with the development of man is revealed two parts: as the requirement inside man for the yearning to the study to the individual and the world, and the specialty and the innovation of the training objectives.The educators should attach importance to the status of the graduate education. It differs from the under-graduate education because of the representations as the "highest level". Its essence is determined by the goal, structure, function, and the main body of the graduate education.Knowledge innovation is the provision of the function because of the purpose and the mechanism of innovation. A new definition of the "knowledge" is helpful to understand that the main task of the graduate education have decided the attribute of innovation. The process of graduate education is the process of innovation of thinking and upbuild and re-construction of the conception. The latter lead the graduate education to the knowledge innovation, and realize the aim of fostering the advanced special intellectual with ability of innovation, and theinnovated achievement.We try to abstract the essence of the graduate education from these three points of view. And we draw the conclusion as the five parts: cultivation, innovation, specialization, advancement, and liberty. |
