Human resource is called "the first resource". As the most important base for cultivating and gathering talented people, universities are responsible for cultivating thousands of specialists and innovators, thus carry on a very special task in implementing the strategy of strengthening the nation by human resource. Therefore, universities should exploit human resource to the highest level, and establish a high-qualified team, so that they can reach the "peak" of education, and merge in the international educational trend. As we all know, Chinese universities are in the process of transformation, for the purpose that we could adapt ourselves better to the international trend, it is necessary for us to analyze and refer to the mode of human resource management towards teachers in foreign universities. That is the background of this paper. The main method used in this paper is combining theory and practice. Through analyzing human resource management towards teachers in Japanese universities, we can get a further understanding on the present problems. This paper offers some practical advices on human resource management towards teachers in Chinese universities.The main contents in this paper are:Chapter 1: States the importance of human resource management towards teachers in universities strategically.Chapter 2: Introduces some concepts on human resource management towards teachers in universities.Chapter 3: Introduces the modes of human resource management towards teachers in universities on the fowling respects: human resource planning, recruiting, motivating, performance appraising and career planning.Chapter 4: Introduces five aspects of problems on human resource management towards teachers in Chinese universities.Chapter 5: Analyzes Japanese mode of human resource management towards teachers in universities and concludes some experiences.Chapter 6: Describes the role orientation of Chinese university teachers in the 21st century.Chapter 7: States the countermeasures of human resource management towards teachers in Chinese universities.
