History Teacher On The High School Curriculum Standards Under The Concept Of Self-adaptation

History curriculum is undergoing an unprecedented change with the experimentation and popularity of new curriculum on the basic education level. The newly-implemented Senior High School History Curriculum Standard is bringing about great challenges and opportunities to our history teachers, for it has come up with a lot of new ideas and advices on such issues as the basic principles, objective, selection of contents, learning approaches, as well as the teaching methods. In the face of the great challenges, a history teacher should read and comprehend the new ideas embodied in the new curriculum, and then try to adjust his teaching behaviors so as to conform to the new requirements.Many experts have conducted research into the changes of teachers' role in the reform time and make an agreement in many respects, which undoubtedly set a solid foundation for the further study. But we have to admit that research on Senior High School history teachers is far from enough. Firstly, most previous studies were conducted in general, not aiming to a specific field. Secondly, those studies only focused on theory, and did not work out a feasible measure and security system on how to help teachers change their role successfully. In addition, fewer researchers were really concerned about the conditions of teachers deeply involved teaching activities. I am attempting to make a further study into High School history teachers in the form of questionnaire and visiting, expressing their inner thoughts. Thirdly, most previous researchers are talking about teachers' role shift from the perspective of an observer. Very few of them have actually ever participated in teaching activities. I, as a teacher who is teaching history, try to talk about how a High School history teacher really measure up to the new curriculum standards based on my years teaching experiences.
