| The phenomenon of informal groups among the middle school students is a kind of objective existence in the group life in human society and cannot be neglected. It also exerts irreplaceable influence on the thoughts and behaviors of the middle school students. Therefore, the informal groups, just like formal groups and the individuals of the middle school students, are also the objectives of moral educators. The proper understanding and treatment are the significant basis for moral education. However, in the present education, moral educators have not paid enough attention to the informal groups. The paper, approached from the influence and role that the informal groups have on the students'moral development, attempts to explore the meanings of strengthening the moral education on informal groups, to analyze the problems existing in the informal groups in the middle school students and to discover the basic strategies and methods to enhance the moral education on the informal groups.The paper first gives a simple introduction of the origin and the development of the term"informal groups"and then defines this term after integrating the definitions given by the experts home and abroad from different angle. Based on the analysis above, the meaning and features of the informal groups in the middle school students are demonstrated. The negative and positive influences that the informal groups have on the middle school students are offered from both negative and positive aspects though the thorough analysis of the features of the informal groups.
