Transition Period The Primary School Teacher Mental Health Problems,

The thesis conducts a theoretical and empiracal study on mental health of headteachers in elementary schools with the reasearch menthods of literature review, questionaire investigation and comparative measure. It points out the features and causes of their mental health problems as well as the solutions to these problems. Also preliminary research on the self-educated model is presented in the thesis. The research results are as follows:(1)The amount of the people with mental problems among the headteachers in elementary schools reaches a level of 48.1%,which is obviously higher than that among the other normal adults in China;(2)There was no correlation between headteachers'mental health situation and their sex, age, marital status, educational attainment, periods of teaching, professional title, the class type they teached and so on; (3)Headteachers'mental health has positive correlation with the subjects they taught and the type of school in which they work; (4)The differences of sex, educational attainment and concurrent posts have no obvious influence on headteachers'mental health; (5)Compared with those in their twenties, headteachers have higher somatization in their forties; compared with headteachers who have just been a headteacher for short time, have higher level of anxiety;(6)Significant difference exists between who shacked up with others and those with other marital status, the former's situation of mental health is worse than the latter. the divorced headteachers suffered more from phobia anxiety than the married; (7)The overall mental health of the headteachers who have just worked is superior to their courterparts who work longer , but the ones who worked for 2-5 years are hit by more obvious hostility and paranoid ideation ; (8) The headteachers with title of"second Elementary Teacher"have better health situation than those more advanced teacher, (9)Compared with headteachers take charge of high grade, headteachers of mediam grade have higher level of mental health;(10)The overall mental state of the headteachers from schools directly governed by municipal educational bureau is better than that of those from schools governed by towns which, however,is worse than that of their from schools governed by countries except somatization;(11)There is a significant correlation between the mental state of the headteachers and the level of their social groups, schools, families and their own mental health support system; (12)Significant difference exists among the headteachers...
