Primary And Secondary Operating Mechanism Of Participatory Management Research

With the acceleration of social democratization since the 20^th century, all the countries began focusing on people-centered thoughts and emphasizing the development of humam beings. They have taken great efforts to reform the management system in schools to prompt the staffs' and the stake-holders' individual initiatives and creativity to improve the quality of teaching and cultivate the new generations of all-round development. The participatory management theory followed the trend and tried to offer a new thought of reform for school management. It has profound significance in prompting both schools and individuals' development. Running the participatory management in schools can accelerate the socialization of the students and train their consciousness and ability of participation. If the teachers in schools can participate in school management, their initiative and creativity will be wakened. And it will prompt the teachers' professional development. Participatory management can increase the rationality and transparence of schools' decision-making and help school gain the support form parents and society. In a word, it can enhance school effectiveness.This paper adopts the methods of documental research and theory analysis to make definitions of some key concepts through organizing the concerned materials in both china and abroad on teachers', students', parents', and communities' participation in school's management. Furthermore this paper issues out four main elements in middle and primary schools' participatory management: participators, participatory institutions, the contents of participation and the size of participation. And based on this, the paper makes a deeper research on the running mechanism of the participatory management in schools.
