Higher vocational education is an important constituent part of higher education, falling into the scope of higher education, meanwhile possessing the nature of vocational education. Character of teachers who work in higher vocational schools are particularly required by the cultural aim of higher vocational education. Therefore, to culture "the double-type teachers" is not only a main point in establishment of a teacher team but also a key work to enhance the features of higher vocational education and teaching quality. However, how to culture "the double-type teachers" has been a difficult problem bothering the higher vocational schools, and a bottleneck to prevent from rising of educational quality in the higher vocational schools.This study, by investigating problems in culture of "the double-type teachers" in the higher vocational schools of Yunnan province, discovering the present state and existing problems in culture of "the double-type teachers", then analyzes the attributed reasons of the existing problems, finally, suggests solutions for the culture of "the double-type teachers" in the schools. The article is divided into four parts as below:1. To make explanation for the concept related to "the double-type teachers"; to introduce reasons for selecting the subject; to describe the review of studies for "the double-type teachers"; to raise aim, significance, and method of the study.2. To present problems existing in culture of "the double-type teachers" in the higher vocational schools of Yunnan province, different recognition of "the double-type teachers"; unclear criteria of recognition for "the double-type teachers"; unreasonable quantity and academic structures of "the double-type teachers"; insufficient practice and technical skill training for "the double-type teachers"; not sufficient continuing education for "the double-type teachers", and low salary, benefit and so on.3.
