Syllabus is the central embodiment of reaching objective. It plays a dominant role in education. Thus the adaptability of syllabus will directly influence the quality of the students. In November 2003, Ministry of Education published the experimental of course plan for sport education major of universities and colleges in China 2004. It began a reform of course arrangement for sport education major with new concerns. Gymnastics, as one of the main obligatory subject for SEM (sport education major ) is very vital to the sport education. Its vital role is determined not only by the tendency of the reform of course arrangement, but also by its own function . The rationality of the gymnastic syllabus formulation for SEM, the accordance with the education objective of SEM thus play an important role in fulfilling the education objective of SEM in Yunnan universities and colleges and cultivating qualified students. Based on this fact, the thesis makes a systematic research on the gymnastic syllabus of SEM in Yunnan universities and colleges. The author hopes to offer some implications for completion of syllabus.In this paper, the author mainly studies the gymnastic syllabus in Yunnan universities and colleges by means of questionnaires investigation, interviewing of experts, literature review, investigation of documents and statistical methods. There are some research fingings:First , the rationality of the gymnastic syllabus of SEM in Yunnan universities and colleges and the teachers' grasp and operation of the syllabus would directly exert influence on the teaching effect .Second .there are some irrational parts in gymnastic syllabus of SEM in Yunnan universities and colleges in terms of course objective , course arrangement , teaching content , teaching method , assessment and education .Third , the reform of elementary course and the reform of education for all- around development have great impact on the syllabus of and gymnastic syllabus of SEM in Yunnan universities and colleges .The gymnastic should...
