On the basis of literature research, through the questionnaire which the author constructed, the research conducts empirical study on employees' training in the small and medium-sized enterprises of north Jiangsu province. It investigates the training awareness of the employees and employers and the training reality in the small and medium-sized enterprises of north Jiangsu province, giving out some conclusions. In theory, it can reveal the psychological and behavioral characteristics. In practice, on the one hand, the research can provide some references and suggestions for the enterprises to establish the training mechanism, foster the supporting talents, developing human resource and keep the sustained development; on the other hand, it can reflect the real training situation in such enterprises to the local government and provide data support for the government to formulate and improve relevant policy .The main conclusions of this research as follows: 1, The training awareness:(1) Most employees and employers think that it is necessary to train; most employees and employers think that the most important function of training is to help employees adapt to their working position as soon as possible or to improve the working efficiency. (2) Significant differences have been shown on the awareness of training. Employees are more favor to have training, suggesting that the employees pay more attention to the development of their own career. (3) Significant differences of employees have been shown between the posts, ages and records of formal schooling, suggesting employees' different awareness of the mean and the methods, telling us that the training should be pertinent. (4) Significant differences of employees have been shown between different areas. The employees from Huai'an are more active, probably because they were radiated by other cultures earlier. (5) Significant differences of employers have been shown between records of formal schooling. The awareness of the functions of training of employers with higher records of formal school is deeper. (6) Significant differences on training awareness of employers have been shown between different areas. The employers from Lianyungang are more favor to take training.
