Students' Capacity For Independent Innovation Culture

Nowadays, the advancement and innovation of science and technology is the decisive force in economic and social development. No matter it is a nation or a business enterprise, if it doesn't control the core technique and independent intellectual property rights and does not possess an independent innovation capability, it will not hold the initiative of future development. We can say so: the ability of independent innovation is the core of a nation's competitiveness. And human resources is the core of improving the independent innovation capability. Currently, the independent innovation capability has already become the bottleneck restricting the rapid development of China's economy. Innovation makes everything possible in the future and talent is the hope of future. Cultivating the independent innovation capability is the fatal strategic option to revitalize the country with science and education as well as to enhance its national strength with talents. Higher education is an essential part of China's innovation system, which shoulders a major responsibility for improving the country's independent innovation capability, building an innovation-oriented country, providing the cultivation of talents and contributing knowledge. Cultivating the Students' independent innovation capability presently is still in the exploratory stage in China, despite various forms and channels which can be adopted , it still has not broken from the traditional patterns. College student's independent innovation capability is still far from being able to meet the needs of building an innovation-oriented country, and consequently, how to cultivate their independent innovation capability is a major issue faced by institutions of higher education.Firstly, this article further illustrates that the independent innovation and talents' cultivation are the important strategic option of implementing the scientific concept of development, comprehensively building a well-off society and achieving the future-oriented development. They are also the major policy of revitalizing the country with science and education and enhancing the national strength with talents. Secondly, it provides a theoretical basis for cultivating college student's independent innovation capability through defining "independent innovation" and "creative talents".
