Compulsory education curriculum reform has spread rapidly in China. The new curriculum has several prominent points in bran-new concept, curriculum target, curriculum structure, curriculum content, curriculum implement which have been transformed much. Consequently, the teachers' professional quality must change greatly as well. In this paper, I confer to the teachers' new professional quality based on the background of the curriculum reform and the request of the chemistry curriculum standard. Furthermore, basing on the questionnaire to the part of chemistry teachers in Beijing city, I re-ascertain and analyze the connotation of chemistry teachers' professional quality.As a foundation to put new chemistry curriculum into practice healthily, as a basical safeguard to teach and learn chemistry with effect, the up-to-date request of teachers' professional quality of the new curriculum manifest as follows: on the one hand, chemistry teachers' ability to comprehend and establish new curriculum; on the other hand, chemistry teachers' ability to bring new curriculum into effect.The conclusion and hints of this research:First: Strengthen and supplement the connotation of chemistry teachers' professional qualitySecond: The actuality of partial Beijing city chemistry teachers' professional quality was found outThird: It can provide available references to training teachers before they are in service and in-service.
