Economic and social progress requires the vigorous development of vocational education. The objective of high-level vocational education is to bring up students with basic and specialized knowledge, comprehensive quality and professional competence that are required in certain professions, so as to provide the working positions in production, construction, management and service with qualified work forces. With the acceleration of informatization of modem society, information technology with computer network as its core has not only changed people's way of life, work and learning, but also brought up unprecedented impact on education in the new century. Case study, as a teaching method, first used in education of law and medicine, is now widely applied in school teaching in economy, business and trade, administration, law, education, etc. Before the emergence of information technology such as multimedia and computer network, case study was mainly presented in class by teacher's lecture. Although some cases could be presented vividly by lecture and by printed materials, there were still certain characters of cases not fully demonstrated. Therefore, effective teaching remained a goal to be achieved.Considering the equipment of the vocational college that I am working for and the features of the business and trade courses that I am currently teaching, in the process of combining information technology and case study, I try to explore the ways in which teachers and students can seek, refine, display, discuss and evaluate the cases by using information technology, find out how to use information technology to effectively cultivate and assess the practical ability of students specialized in business and trade, and find out the role that teachers should play in IT assisted case study teaching.In the thesis, a series of subjects are studied, namely, IT assisted case study teaching in Marketing and Logistic Management, the ways of using information technology in case study, students' learning process and outcome under the new teaching method, reform in students' assessment, teachers' role in the new teaching method, etc. Methods such as activity, qualitative research, observation, questionnaire and interview have been used in the study.Based on an elaboration of organizing a case study teaching activity and the analysis and assessment of the research, the thesis has presented reflection and conclusions on the following four aspects: the ways of using information technology in case study teaching in business course of high-level vocational schools, the influence of IT assisted case study teaching on the knowledge and practical skills of students, the requirements for teachers in IT assisted case study teaching, and the advantages and disadvantages of IT assisted case study teaching.
